Vanilla Cake
- 3/4 cup butter 169 g
- 1 cup sugar 200 g
- 1/4 cup sour cream 40 g
- 3 eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract 10 g
- 2 1/3 cups flour 280 g
- 1 tsp baking powder 4 g
- 1/2 tsp baking soda 3 g
- 1/2 tsp salt 3 g
- 3/4 cup milk 169 g
Buttercream Frosting
- 1 cup butter 226 g
- 2 cups powdered sugar 240 g
- 1 tsp vanilla extract 3 g
- sprinkles or other toppings, optional
Vanilla Cake
Preheat the oven to 350º F. Grease a 9x13 baking pan.
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the sour cream and eggs. Mix in the vanilla extract and beat the mixture until it is smooth and well combined.
Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, and pour in the milk. Beat the batter until it is smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
Bake the cake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean when inserted. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool before frosting.
Frosting
In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
Spread the frosting on top of the cooled cake. Top the cake with sprinkles or other toppings.
